"This take-away is near my friends and not my local. They have used it before when we came but we were particularly dissapointed with it this time. My tarka dhal appeared to have no lentils in it at all and was runny like soup. I've not made it myself before but i read that lentils are added last minute so it's almost like they forgot to put them in. The little bag of salady stuff was frozen! My husbands meal left him with horrible indigestion all night. I'm also giving a negative point for the use of plastic containers rather than a more eco option. The mushroom rice poppadoms were very nice. I was told the naan was good. I would never have a take-away from this restaurant again."

"We have recently moved into Brixworth so have eaten at the George a few times. Generally the food is good and portions are decent. We had an early dinner on Saturday evening. They are pretty good at steaks but the chicken strozzapretti on the specials...menu wasn’t strozzapretti first of all, but tagliatelle. The sauce was a creamy sauce with pieces of chicken, but not enough sauce so was really dry and not very tasty. I left most of it. The starters were good though the seafood basket had a fish cake in it which could have done with the sweet chilli sauce that was served with the separate fish cake dish. Nachos are good there too. The girls serving were friendly and helpful. We will be back but I won’t order pasta again."

"Service! very friendly staff...to be a place. had the smoked duck starter, and roasted lamming. the smart with the duck I felt needed a little love. for example, pick up the carrots. I found the sose preferred that was dotted around the plate instead of the dip. overall it was pleasant, and I would order it again. lamb main was delicious! I personally would have liked a little more lame...but I am greedy: the yorky puds were amazingly huge and very crispy. fantastic effort! only a small mistake was an intense taste of nelken on the carrots. I personally found it a little strange and somewhat dominant as taste. overall it is a nice place to go. would recommend."

"Went midweek, a table was made available. The service throughout the meal was exemplary. The menu is very good with dishes we had not sampled before. The food was fantastic, my only quibble being the amount of sauce, it was beautifully spiced, but perhaps if we had a bread it wouldn’t have mattered as much. The value was definitely excellent and we would definitely come back."

"We came to the roast on Sunday and it was nice. Juicy turkey, that's a rarity. We sat right at the fireplace and didn't have to wait until our orders were taken and delivered. The menu provided had good options for all our tastes, we will definitely be back on weekday. Thanks to Niamh and the rest of the team for an excellent service."

"Beautiful pub, great eating, beautiful garden and absolutely amazing staff! had dinner in pavillon with the in set, there was live music outside, the dishes presentation was exceptional and the quality of the eating was top! waiter and waitress super attentive, all the time with a smile. there are also plenty of parking space and the prices were fair. will be repeated"

"First time here and we ordered on Thursday evening to the birthday of my mother, we had 3 main dishes, nann and rice, was absolutely to die! the tikka masala was the best I ever tried. not my fav korma, but still very nice. the man on the phone could do with some brushes on his customers skills, although quite expensive, but would order again:"
