"Absolutely first class venue, service and of course food. We were the 1st to try a new brunch menu, it's a bit like a tasting menu with a extremely well cooked and presented selection. The restaurant also boasts 11 well appointed rooms, a function room and garden. Highly recommended, we will be back!!"

"I’ve been to the Eagle several times and the food is always outstanding. We live local to the area and this has always been the go to place for great meal. It’s well known to be one of the best gastropubs in area. If you...get the chance to go, do. "Never ordering from here again! Only done it because my partner was ordering a curry and I didn’t want to walk to get fish and chips. Ended up with food poisoning! "First, that's not a pub. Previously it was some time, but now it's just a restaurant that seems to do everything to shy a pub atmosphere, while serving as something overpriced restaurant with unconsistent levels of standard. if that were a pub, it would remain at its opening times, as advertised. it doesn't. the owners seem to close to a laune. I wanted to invite a drink tonight, because I was so out, but still it was closed despite the advertising. such a crashing scandal that the owners have changed it so much. it is taken out of the soul, which was a fantastic place to fall, but no longer. I will stay more local now, since it is honestly not worth the journey only to find that they are closed again. when it was, I stopped at another pub on the street the king and queen I had eaten and checked before. If I'm out, it'll be my new one. bindet all boxes"

"We stayed for 2 nights in the huge Court room suite, with 4 poster bed, once used as an actual court room by Judge Jeffries. Fascinating history. Everything was very clean and every need catered for. The bar area was nice and relaxing and staff very attentive. We ate in the restaurant one night, which was very nice, but fine dining is not our preference and we felt the food was very small for the cost. Would like to see a broader more affordable menu. Breakfast was excellent. We had booked on the champagne folly tower tour, which was fantastic. Martha, a lovely member of staff walked us up to the folly tower, unlocked it and took us up, unloaded her backpack with an ice bucket, ice, a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses she had carried all the way, and left us for 40 mins on our own to admire the views, while sipping champagne, which was absolutely fantastic as was the weather. Definitely worth doing. Thanks to Martha for making this such a special start to our holiday. We would definitely return as hotel is newly refurbished in the last year or so and staff are excellent."
