"We went to The Parvin for an alternative family dinner. on Christmas Day. As a vegetarian, I should have realised that the £25 per head, buffet option was not good value for me personally as there was very limited choice of vegetarian dishes available and I should have ordered from the main menu and had freshly cooked food at a better price. I accept responsibility for not working that out but it would have been helpful if the waiter had brought this to my attention. To be fair, he did allow me to choose an additional veggie side dish to bulk up the abysmal buffet choice but I needn't have bothered as it was no better than the brussel sprout bhaji from the buffet. Did the chef honestly believe that this dish was a good idea? or was it some kind of Christmas joke? Overcooked brussel sprouts kept warm in a sauce all day are going to be sloppy and slimy which they were..........and this dish tasted every bit as bad as it looked. The meat-eaters in my party were equally disappointed in the turkey tikka masala which was their main dish option. I find it hard to believe that they had the cheek to serve any of the buffet dishes as part of a celebratory Christmas feast. The best thing about it was the rice which was fluffy and edible."

"Been to The Cottage every week, and each time they have never failed me! Tried various meals on the menu and all have been spot on. Amazing service from staff, always a good atmosphere, the outside area (pergola) is comfortable and spacious. All around an...amazing pub with amazing food! The pear and blue cheese salad is a must!! And the black pudding and haggis bon bons are a dream!!! Landlord and land lady Karen and Chris are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them."

"My friend and I visited the cafeteria at Deans Garden Centre on 22 November it was her birthday. We ordered fish and chips! I asked if we could have our hot drinks after the meal as we have done before. No we would have to reorder when we had eaten. The drinks were cold when the meals arrived. The fish was on top of the burnt chips if you could call them chips, tiny cubes burnt. My friend said, and I agree with her, everything looked as though the fish chips had been cooked before and re-heated. We left most of the meal. When a waitress came to clear our crockery, we pointed out our experience she just said we should have told someone when we ordered. We were not expecting such a disgusting meal. I took photographs . I do not normally review dreadful experiences but this was not what we expected. We will vote with our feet and never return."

"It can sometimes be hit and miss depending on the waiter or waitress. My husband is coeliac so we order 2 gluten free meals that we can share. Last time, they only provided 1 gluten free and not the other. The zucchini noodles dish was quite disappointing as more pasta than actual zucchini. On another occasion, they went over the top with a lovely board and happy birthday written on it, it made it so special. So give it s go, afterall, we keep on going there so it is pretty nice."
