"Tuesday evening meal for 5 adults, so restaurant not busy. service was very attentive, eating was hot and plentiful, we enjoyed honey-huh,huh tikka masala andhuh madras with various rice and beside dishes, all were excellent. house white was good and we also enjoyed some pints of cobra and san miguel. the meal was enjoyed by all and with the bill about the £100 brand, very reasonable, as 25% of the bill was alcohol. would certainly recommend it although we called before the book, it would probably not have been necessary. will certainly go back."

"Sunday lunch with my girlfriend and foodie Daughter, having booked on Saturday evening, and being accommodated for lunch the next day was very much appreciated, thank you for that, my Daughters choice of roast would always be lamb and it’s so nice to see it on a menu nowadays and especially here and to be fair it was cooked to perfection as I also had it, the whole meal was cooked the same way, lovely nice choice of fresh vegetables and the best roast potatoes I have ever had outside of home, now that’s how you judge a roast dinner, am I not right readers? the food was outstanding, my girlfriend had the chicken and by the look of her plate, obviously enjoyed it and she doesn’t really like a roast, says it all, if it is cooked with love, it clearly shows on the plate, big thanks to all the kitchen staff my only criticism and the reason I didn’t give it a 5 was just down to a couple of younger members of serving staff, smile and look like you enjoy what your doing, even if your not, it doesn’t cost anything, a total opposite to the nice lady that greeted us on arrival, would I recommend it, ABSOLUTELY, will I be back? I wouldn’t go anywhere else in and around here for Sunday lunch."

"Stopped for lunch on our walk of The Chiltern Hills to find a picturesque pub on the edge of town. Inside a central bar surrounded by several spacious rooms ... Some laid out for dining. Two cask ales on offer and both sampled were in excellent condition and well served by friendly staff. Unfortunately even though their website says they are serving lunch on Tuesdays ... Apparently that's all wrong. Yet another establishment in the hospitality sector that cares little for new clients and passing trade. The whole town seems to be semi comatose on weekday lunchtimes. Best avoided if you're looking to dine."
