"Six months ago I moved across the street from this place, so I 've eaten here quite a few times. It 's kind of a local eatery for people living in this neighbourhood, but being in a rather busy tourist area (between Belém and the Ajuda Palace), this small family owned and runned restaurant is one of the best options for lunch or early dinner. It doesn 't get many turists, which really is a shame, as it is a very nice restaurant. So I 've decided to enter it 's first review. The place has been around for decades, and the menu consists mostly of dishes from Northern Portugal, namely from the cold northwestern highlands, so expect hearty winter food. Portions are rather large (2 entrées will sufice for 3 persons) and prices are rather reasonable, so it 's a good option for anyone on a budget. I recomend the cozido à portuguesa , the ensopado de cabrito , and any bacalhau dish they have in the day specials. Fish soup (with pasta) is also good. Seasoning is geared towards local taste, so expect strong flavors. Also, I 'm not sure how they rank in terms of English speaking, but I suspect it 's not brilliant. A phrase book might come in handy..."
