"From the outside you might never give this restaurant a second look. You'd think just another neighbourhood Beitz. If you enter what you see is indeed a typical old style Beitz. Charming in the 60's sense. However it is well worth a stop. The menu, hand written on a sandwich board, is simple with two tagesmenus (soup or salad and main with either meat/fish or vegie). The other side of the sandwich board is the short à la carte selection. Everything listed is what belongs in a traditional Beitz. Kidneys, tripe , a schnitzel variation, soup, salad, a fish perhaps etc. On the surface nothing out of the ordinary. This is where the stealthy bit kicks in. In the kitchen is Bernhard Weber, dressed in old jeans and and simple work shirt. His inspiration elevates these simple dishes to something quite special. I had an asparagus cream soup that epitomized the taste of the asparagus season. Not the usual thick, creamy potage but a lighter veloute like soup with intense flavour. Garnished with crouton. That was followed with his version of tripe. Cooked in a bier sauce instead of the frequently encountered tomato or white wine sauce. The meat was cooked to perfection. One of the best treatments of tripe I have yet encountered. My partner had the daily special. First the asparagus soup followed by a Rotbarsch filet cooked still glassy accompanied my four large asparagus spears and some crunchy green beans. A very good herby mayonnaise accompanied. The asparagus was still a bit crunchy and sweet - the way very fresh white asparagus should be. All in all the meal was an absolute delight. The hallmark of a great chef is the ability to transform simple, fresh ingredients into something very special. Herr Weber excels at this.Service was very helpful, extremely friendly and efficient. If you are in the area it is worth a stop. Reservations are advised. You have to go to the restaurant to see the menu. Nothing on their basic web site. When I called to reserve I asked what was on the menu today and the terse reply was "fish" ;')."
Lammli from Metzerlen is a good option for a bar if you want to have a cocktail after work and sit with friends or alone, The fine sandwiches, small salads and other snacks are also suitable for a snack.

"Excellent location just behind the Therwil Zentrum tram station. Still very calm. Very large, sunny, comfortable outdoor area with sun protection, which is opened at dusk in dry weather. The outdoor area was almost fully booked on a Saturday evening from around 7:30 p.m., but emptied just as quickly around 10 p.m. Staff very friendly, attentive and fast. Our consumption (2 people): 2 x Insalata valeriana con uovo sodo (nut salad with egg), 1l mineral water, 2 x Piccata milanese con spaghetti al pomodoro (veal piccata with spaghetti in tomato sauce), 1 x 0.5l table wine Primitivo (none large selection), 1 x tira misu (original presentation in a glass; cream allegedly cream mascarpone mixture, whereby presumably only traces of mascarpone were processed; I did not notice the usual liqueur coffee). SPECIAL NOTE: The choice of plates for the main course seems unfortunate to me. At first glance I thought the plate had been decorated with some kind of powder. When that was not confirmed, I thought the plate was dirty. But the person opposite had the same 'picture ' on his plate. A 'clumsy, irritating ' motif, by no means original. Total price: around CHF 165.00. From my memory, the prices of the very large menu do not correspond to those of the menu that can be downloaded from the website. All in all: I would not go to this restaurant because of the food. The location and the great outdoor area make this Italian restaurant a restaurant that I like to visit every now and then."

"We had family birthday celebration in this restaurant during lunch time and were offered a la carte menu or fixed lunch menu. We went for a la carte option, all dishes were very tasty and presented very well. Ravioli with black truffle were great (exactly like in Italy , octopus salad and grilled fish were fresh and well prepared. Espresso at the end is a must; Very attentive service, we felt very welcome. Thanks a lot to entire team for a wonderful experience, we will definitely return! Book in advance as this place is popular within local community."
In pleasant weather you can even eat and drink in the outdoor area.

"I know l'ange for many years and in general this is a good medium class place to have lunch or dinner. The good thing is that it is right after the boarder to Switzerland near Oberwil or even Basel. Today however they must have had too many people and it seems like in the kitchen they had huge problems to bring out the food on time and in quality. My foie gras de canard was great but after that nothing happened for a long time. Bad experience :-("
