I love Chow House! Was tossing up where to go for breakfast on my birthday so headed into James St for a look around. Thought I would visit after forgetting about this gem for 2 years. What a let down! The service was quick but completely disinterested in customers and the food was less than satisfactory. Meals were placed on our table with a muttered announcement from one of the waiters. We had the duck pancakes (duck was overcooked, reheated and tough as my boot's leather sole) but the sauce was good.
