Candy - Cairns

Heard great things so hubby and I went for breakfast a few weeks ago. Enjoyed it, had the avocado smash but I am dairy intolerant so asked to swap beetroot fetta for mushrooms which wasn't a problem (& I wasn't charged extra) coffee was okay but not the best I've had (I have long black so you can defintely taste the difference between good and average coffee).Went again today (another Saturday morning) waited about 10 mins with staff constantly walking back and forth ( the coffee machine was broken so lots of staff seemed to be fussing about that) before finally asking someone if they could take our order ( last time it was table service)& was told to go the counter and order (maybe tell customers when your seating them!) Ordered the same as last time except this time I realised after sitting down that I'd been charged extra for mushrooms. Definitely a different vibe from the first time (& it was busy but not crazy busy)Disappointed as we like to give other business' a chance but think we'll stick to where we usually go.

We walked in at 10.30am for breakfast, and was happy there was a table for the two of us. After ordering our coffee, the waitress told us that there would be a 20 minute wait on our food. I ordered a soy cappuccino, which was not very good. The milk looked like it had curdled. After 30 minutes, our food arrived. The bagel I ordered was not bagel; but bread in the shape of a bagel. My husband had the special on the board; the omelette. He thought it was ok. Presentation wise, it was good. Overall, the experience was pretty average.

Tomamos una hamburguesa que por lo visto tiene fama en la ciudad, y también un sandwich con carne que estaba delicioso.Tanto nos gustó el sitio que al día siguiente volvimos para desayunar. Los huevos benedictinos, aunque nos son los mejores que he probado, estaban buenos. Y el chocolate y el café, además de muy buenos también, los sirven con mucho encanto.A todo lo anterior hay que añadir que el servicio es francamente bueno, y tanto la camarera, como la chica que nos cobró fueron simpatiquísimas y muy atentas en todo momento.En cuanto a los precios, son más o menos acordes con la ciudad. No son baratos, pero tampoco resultan caros, máxime cuando la calidad de los platos y el servicio es bueno.Un lugar recomendable tanto como para desayunar, como para almorzar.

We arrived just as the restaurant was opening. The staff still seated us and gave us menus to look at while they finished setting up. The waitress took our coffee order so that it could be made as soon as the machine warmed up. The food came almost immediately after we ordered, and apart from the bircher museli (normal serving) the other two meals were large. Everything was well presented and delicious. We sat outside on the footpath and were pleasantly surprised that the table wasn't wobbly :)

Have dined in for lunch/breakie and dinner multiple times, the food is always delicious and drinks right up there too! The staff are always freindly! Food is usually out withing 10-20 minutes at the most depending on how busy.
