"We had the weekly 3 course set menu and it was an absolutely mind blowing dining experience. I have been telling all my foodie friends and then some. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is impeccable. What a treat! "Nestled on Folkestone 's seawall, The Holy Pundit surprises as an unconventional curry house. Hidden above The Mariner pub, this small, bustling venue has a laid back vibe that immediately welcomes you. The menu diverges from the norm, presenting Pundit Signature dishes alongside more traditional options. The chef 's passionate recommendations really helped us select and experience some amazing dishes. Standouts include exceptional onion bahjis that are a must order and inventive poppadoms. Although, these left us unable to unleash our tagline “Six Poppadoms Please” much to our annoyance. Mains and sides impress with faultless execution. Due to the unconventional nature of the menu customers may benefit from staff guidance, luckily the chef was more than happy to help. He gave us some fantastic advice, whilst choosing our meal. Service is characterised by a laid back yet polite demeanour, with unexpected complimentary starters enhancing the experience. The limited Indian beer selection was a minor letdown, the decor lacks traditional curry house elements and facilities would benefit from an update. Despite these minor drawbacks, The Holy Pundit earns a resounding recommendation. Its unique location, surprising ambience and exceptional service contribute to its 'hidden gem ' status. Approach with an open mind, an empty stomach and allow The Holy Pundit to deliver an unparalleled curry house experience. "Great curry house, not the usual vat brewed madras, they have a really interesting and tasty menu. I recommend the Murgh Makhani. The staff are always very pleasant and the owner is a nice bloke."

"Stopped in Folkstone for the first time, upon arriving my family and I ventured to The Bouverie Tap. Highly enjoyed the authenticity of the pub, and the personable staff. Dani our server was great! Suggesting a variety of drinking options to try. Additionally, I recommend you try the fish and chips, you won’t be disappointed. Atmosphere was great!"

"Don’t get me wrong: I’m not here to make people feel bad, but when it comes to coffee I have a very short fuse. Now here’s the deal: when you advertise yourself as a speciality roaster who is number one in town… well, it sort...of means you have to get your ducks in a row. And I’m not talking ducklings, like offering 3 ! sizes for the flat white (even though any purists visiting the place might want to burn some scented vegan candles just for that), but proper mom duck and dad duck issues: like milk temperature. Yes, I said it: I can live with random sizes on coffees (hey, it’s almost 2022 or even having to queue outside to be invited in to be able to order (just so they can have the “covid approved by the AA” sticker no one cares about) but when you boil the milk on a “small” flat out it’s game over for me. I shouldn’t have to explain to a “roaster” who potentially trains their people in house what it means to boil the milk. It’s as big of a turn off like having a picture of Nigel Farage on your bedroom ceiling. And this was on a take away drink also, which took way too long to make by the way probably because they had to boil the milk. Yes the place is quirky and has a cool hipsterish vibe, but come on: don’t mess with the coffee, guys! Standards!"

"Very good choice on the menu. We've been a couple of times and enjoyed it both times. We did have a small problem when my potato wasn't very hot but it was overcome very quickly and our bill was adjusted. Would recommend this restaurant."
