I went for lunch today for the first time hereThis IHOP recently opened in LaurelIt's in a good location and is nice and new.
This place has really turned around since my last reviewThe service is now great, and the food is delicious.

"Great eats, Great Service. Hidden alongside Southern Mississippi University. Good off-takes on classic Greek cuisine, plus pizzas. I had the Pepper Jack Gyro- food stuff. Their cilantro jalapeno hummus is fantastic. Not sure if they make their pita bread on house, but is is soft, warm, and good. Good service by Christa at the bar. Thanks."

"I placed an online order for pick up. I arrived 5 min early. Employees were inattentive to incoming customers. Several of us were waiting on online orders. When one was out out, the receipt was not out and it was on the side for Door dash and Waiter pick up. No one called out names or checked on anyone standing there. It was not a pleasant experience. Also I got a side salad. They left off my extra dressing and the lettuce was questionable at best so I had to throw it out. It would behoove you to inspect your lettice occasionally. The drink machine was also out of most selections. I would've expected it to be filled in preparation for lunch. I love firehouse and eat here often, but this was not it today."

"The service was a little rough, but they were having a rush so it's okay. The portions are HUGE. Everything I ordered was enough for two people. The sauces are decent (preferred the vinegar based) and the ribs were good. Smoked Yellowfin Dip was solid, although the crackers presentation were a little weird. Fried okra and collards were also both good!"

"Not a very social environment, fantastic food, but awful service. I was rang up *twice* for a drink ordered once. When I brought it up, the bartender told me they had to charge me twice for the drink that I ordered. I have never of maneuvering that way, even after 8 years in the restaurant service industry. I still tipped 20%, but they are involuntarily up-selling customers. This could get you fired in any establishment I have worked in, not here though."

"Today was the first time I have ever visited Newks.it is conveniently located, competitively priced, and very clean. Before entering the establishment the smell of the grilled chicken and the veggies sizzling reached out and put my nose in a full Nelson and lured me inside. Once inside the euphonius music overhead was at the perfect volume. It wasn't too loud as to drown out my company and it wasn't quite enough to make the lunch talk pauses awkward. We all got to the counter and ordered the food from a menu that was strategically placed, out of the way, to where you don't have people standing in from and you having to get a crook in your neck from trying to read it. The lady up front took our order and we paid. By the time we got our drinks and sat down Kaylee was out with our food. She realized the one sandwich was wrong and offered to take it back. The person in our company decided he would eat it. And he LOVED it. That was a good mistake. He may have never ordered it, but thanks to the mess up he did. Regardless Kaylee came back just to make sure that he was ok with it. She would have taken it back. It was very gracious of her since they were packed. That's what I call customer service. Always looking out for the customer. My food was amazing. I have never had a pasta salad with so many different vegetables in it! I look forward to the next time I return. Overall I would recommend.
