"From all culinary offerings during my multi-day stay in Kassel, the Cafe Nenninger was remembered with the most sustainable and positive. Although it is very central – directly at the lively Friedrichsplatz! – lies, master calm, high quality thoughts and sense of tradition. And not the general hype and the hectic that is always felt in other places of the city. This is also the case now, during documenta with its many international visitors. And I very much hope this will take place in the next 100 days (and of course beyond). Since the service and interior of my accommodation hotel have not promised me at all, I prefer to do it without breakfast there and start my days at the Nenninger. Once only with a milk coffee, sometimes with the whole selection of delicacies that the local breakfast buffet has to offer. I have been more and more interested in the quality of drinks and food as well as the ambience and location as well as the excellent and professional service. The denominator can't look back on a long tradition: He has been a family business since 1900. And I do. Located directly on Friedrichsplatz, the coffee house has good 100 seats. Inside very pleasantly distributed on two levels, furnished with cozy furniture from dark wood, with a very bright and bright design through continuous windows. Some stylish low tables and armchairs are on the way to Friedrichsplatz – with a great view of the current pantheon of books, an impressive installation on documenta. But the terrace is very quiet and cool and shaded. Here you sit quietly and peacefully and pleasantly withdrawn, although you are in the middle of the city, with numerous shops in front of your eyes. Homemade, creative products dominate in the Nenninger. The confectionery is especially well known for its impressive wedding cakes and their homemade cookies and candy. Visual pleasure alone is worth it. Another plus is the reliable and competent and fully dedicated service. Here everyone gives their best! After the numerous gastronomic disappointments in Kassel, the existence of the denominator has comforted me every day. During my first visit I was thrilled by a hard, strong, not very bloody service that was able to balance several cloths, along with supplements and pepper and salt shakers through the room and could not rest. Her mother sweat and her deeds were convincing. But now for culinary purposes. I don't know what coffee roasting the denominator takes, but the result is phenomenal. The milk coffee (3,60 Euro) is served in a large, lush, spicy cup, tastes pleasantly creamy-sahnig and can still awaken dead as strong it is. The daily breakfast buffet for lush 13.50 Euro includes only a normal filter coffee. To this end, the optically and lucullically appealing buffet contains the following: various types of bread (of which I prefer the crispy grain rolls, a variety of unconventional self-made jams and bread spreads (I remember a formidable almond spreads and several fruit dusts with alcohol notes, various fine creamy eggs, excellent oranges), fresh milk, some muesli and flock mixtures etc. If I only vaguely throw my wish for a mirror egg into the room, the lady reacts immediately behind the counter and prepares a mirror egg sunny side with crispy bacon. No charge and delivery. I also like the coffee house offer of newspapers and magazines lying on the counter. The cleanliness of the restaurant and also the toilets are also tipptopp. There is also a welcoming atmosphere at all corners. The outer tables are also decorated with succulents planted in small tea boxes. Here you are with love, commitment and heart."

"I thought I would not waste my time by writing a review but finally changed my mind. As an Indian at least I can alert people not to be fooled/looted by a Premium Indian restaurant where the food quality is below average. We went to this restaurant on 6th Aug 2022 and we were 7 adults and 2 kids (4 and 5 years old). We ordered the food at 3:30 PM and after 1 hour and 15 mins, they started serving the food. We ordered for 3 Thali mit Fleisch, 2 Hyderabadi Biryani, 2 Chicken Biryani, 3 Bottles of water, 1 Mango Lassi and 3 Beers. We mentioned them to give us chicken tikka masala in Thali. We have received 3 thalis all with butter chicken. It was already too late and we cooperated with the staff as they said that was their mistake. So we did not return the food. I was highly surprised when I got a bill of 406 Euros. They send us a bill for 9 Thalis instead of 3 Thalis and 4 bottles of water instead of 3 bottles. I overlooked the charge for 1 extra water bottle as I was thinking how 3 thalis can become 9 thalis without a typo. I had requested them to check the bill again and the staff came and said that thalis were counted per person, so that was billed for 9 people. Again we did not agree in this point as we have ordered 3 thalis for 3 people and 4 biryanis for other 4 persons and I asked the staff that we want to meet her chief as we need to be clear about why we have to pay for 9 thalis when we ordered for 3. We can share the food among ourselves as per Indian tradition and that was not their business to see how we are sharing our foods. Then the staff came again and said sir we have given a 15% discount on the total bill and now you can pay 347.74 Euros. It was already 17:51 PM when we got the bill and we were shifting our house so we had lots of pending work. All of my friends came from another city and they had to return home after finishing work. It was really awkward to argue with the staff about the bill in front of friends when I was giving the treat. So I paid the bill. After receiving the bill the staff replied this is a premium Indian restaurant so the price is high. I felt insulted again in front of my friends and family in a Premium Indian restaurant run by a Nepali owner and Srilankan staff. How your staff can comment on a customer without knowing their background? Do I need to be in 3 piece suit when ordering food or show attitude to your staff? I never complained about the price as I also agree that the price is really higher but my only concern was they charged for 30.50x6 183 6.90 189.90 Euros extra. My recommendation for the customers, please be clear about the payment before ordering anything in this Premium Indian restaurant. To the management of the Premium restaurant, please do not take advantage of the situation and cheat your customers. Bill is attached for your reference."
