After our disappointing day out on the water and not seeing any Whales we traveled to Basham Beach, once we had seen the whales there, we headed back to Port Elliot and came across a lovely quaint place. What User doesn't like about the retro vibe:
Not a cafe for people looking for good coffee or food this cafe clearly serves a purpose for older locals to socialise so I would not recommend for visitors to Port Elliot to visit. Its menu features basic items that don't feature any local produce nor does it boost freshness or culinary delight. The coffee is poor, but the service seemed friendly enough. Might be a suitable choice for pensioners on a budget. View all feedback.
Although the restaurant may not seem very inviting from the outside, don't let that deter you from trying their menu. Once inside, you'll be greeted with a charming retro atmosphere and friendly staff. I had an amazing breakfast, both dishes were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The coffee was also excellent.
Friendly atmosphere and amazing staff. It bought back memories of the beach shack as a child : coffee was great and food was very reasonably priced and very generous servings. Highly recommend and we will be back!
Great cafe, it’s called Retro Vibe for a reason and is eclectic in look and feel. Food is great, staff are down to earth and always friendly. One of our regular go to places as it’s consistent and I like consistency.
Absolutely outstanding food, tea was delicious. Service was brilliant and the Cafe was beautiful.
There are many cafe choices in the Victor Harbor area, and Retro at Port Elliot is perhaps the most interesting, and today there was a very lovely young lady on who made me a fine short macchiato. These can be quite hard to make and many baristas mess them up. Nice selection of cakes, I had a generous pecan pie slice, and there is a very good menu. Retro by name, Retro by style...and set in perhaps the street with the best history along the coast here, nearby to where some of Storm Boy was filmed.
