I went here as part of a large group for a 40th. We had the banquet- the middle one.TONNES of great quality food with a great range. Wine list was ok however, a couple of the reds we would have drunk they were out of.Raul our waiter was excellent and was great entertainment.Worth heading out to- make a reservation. What User doesn't like about Maharajah's Indian Restaurant:
Generous portions, but poor food and scruffy surroundings. Water served in a filthy bottle and cutlery smeared and greasy. No cards accepted, cash only, almost unheard of in this day and age.Give this place a miss unless you are desperate for a curry! "I first reviewed this gem in 2014. So I thought an update was worthwhile. I must say its not often you get to write two reviews 5 years apart but my interest in this place has not waned. Well it's still all about the coffee and it is still the best in town. And the love and passion for the beverage comes out in everything they do. Since the extension a couple of years ago there have been some steady changes for the better. In my last review I said the food was almost non existent. Bit by bit that is no longer the case. The food offering is still basic but delicious but now there is enough of it that I can happily come for breakfast or lunch and enjoy it. The other difference is that with a bit more space I now often come mid morning and get my laptop out and get a bit of work done in a really nice environment with a great coffee. In the end its still all about the coffee and its still great over the entire 5 years since my first review."
