"The restaurant is not open due to cyclone Debbie, but grab a picnic and head up the hill. Amazing views so take a camera. Rain or fog or clear the views are fantastic. There are some easy walking tracks around the hill, so if you can take some time to enjoy these too. Oh, by the way take a $2 coin to use the binoculars. Looking forward to the restaurant re opening."

"This is a basic but honest country pub, friendly staff with a really good chef. One of the best steaks I have eaten anywhere and they were very accommodating to my vegetarian companion giving her some tempting options and when she had selected making a great dish for her!"

"Best value meals on our holiday so far. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced drinks too. Big dining area with the tables well spaced and lots of different specials on Saturday night. We wish we had a pub like this at home."

"On a warmish winters day during my last trip to Bowen I had time for a 'spot of lunch'. TripAdvisor said the fish and chips here was nice. Understatement. It was delicious. I had crumbed fish, chips and some calamari. Very quick service and my order was ready promptly considering how busy the place was. I found a table out the back overlooking the fishing boats and the bay. What a great spot for some lunch. The fish was super-fresh and the chips were just yummy. I wish my local fish and chipper was half as good."
