"The Transit Bar is situated next to the YHA and close to the Casino. I am presuming it takes its name from the fact that outside its entrance is where the Airport Bus collects passengers. The Bar itself is below ground and can on initial examination look somewhat dark and dreary with its limited lighting. However this is a misnomer, as the lighting and seating lends itself to quiet reflection, reading and meeting with friends. There is also a small (one) pool table area if you are so inclined.The bar's speciality is its Lunch-time Special of 'Pizza & Soft Drink' for $10, which is good value for money in this rather expensive city.It also provides a variety of different beers from around Australia including:The Naz Scotch Ale (Victoria)Little Creatures Dog Days (Victoria)Pacer Light Ale (Queensland)Super Fly Rye IPA (Victoria)Prancing Pony Sunshine Ale (South Australia)Mt. Tennent Pale Ale (ACT)My initial visit was around 1600 hours and the place was very quiet with just a few customers. By 1700 hours both the downstairs bar and upstairs outdoor seating was well patronised with many locals enjoying the street outdoor area with its tree shaded area and view of the comings and goings of travelers and workers. The staff were all friendly and the beer cold and refreshing. Recommended if you are looking for a quiet ale and a delicious pizza."

"Usually quite busy during lunch periods, but 2-3 staff members makes the process a bit smoother. They have recently started having more staff, so the queues are moving faster. Food is the same Zamby's food as others with the same prices and drinks on offer. One of the healthiest and fastest foods to get with vegetarian and vegan options as well."

"Spotted the sign advertising the $15 burger and a beer special so decided to try this place out. Have to say I'm pretty happy that I did as the burger was delicious. Love that you can choose any of their burgers from the menu and the other examples I saw on tables all looked fantastic. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere topped it off and the ice cold beer didn't hurt either. I'll be back for another crack at those burgers!"
