"Organised an event here and the service and food exceeded expectations. The functions manager was amazing,answering all my questions and happy to alter things when the numbers fluctuated. The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The bar tender was great and...made some mean cocktails !!The outdoor function space is large and private. Would highly recommend for a function"

"Easily the best place to get fried chicken in Geelong. Delicious, Juicy with generous portion sizes at a still reasonable price. Reminds me of a place I used to go to in Melbourne but can't justify doing anymore, so thank you for bringing delicious fried chicken to Geelong. The one complaint I have is the lack of a loyalty card, I would have cashed that in long ago by now."

"YUM- most definitely my new favourite. Yum yum yum. The food was amazing, service was great and atmosphere was nice and cosy. We have the eye fillet, lamb rump, Asian roast duck and seafood red curry.. Followed by dessert! Every meal was faultless. The chefs should be very proud of the dishes they are producing."

"My daughter had her 21st on the 9th September 2023 on the second floor. The atmosphere was awesome, the two ladies running the private bar were just lovely so helpful and pleasant to everyone. They were very helpful when we had question about setting up they were happy to help. The deck outside was very cosy with gas heaters and small sheltered area. I thought the venue fees would be heaps but the minimum spend was realistically capped. We ordered food and the service was unreal as they brought them out they walked around the room first then placed on a table. I would highly recommend the deck for your functions."

"Frequented this place 20 years ago when it was simply the goldie. Decided on a nice Sunday lunch rather than be away in the holiday madness but golly it was difficult finding somewhere open in the town. Had read about the transformation of GDA and in particular, how good their food is. So Jennifer Brew and I visited. We limbered up in the bar with cheeky beers icy cold . Bar most impressive. Then we hit their dining room. Quite a few in. Here 's the food report card. Sharing plate of cheese and meat selections. although with Jenny 's Italian DNA, the word Sharing is somewhat out of context when she is around antipasta Excellent high quality cheese and meats..the cured beef a wow. Half a dozen Kilpatrick oysters. Jenny 's fav and whilst I 'm usually not a fan these were terrific. Slight hiccup..listed Chardonnay not available much to the embarrassment of our young server she was very efficient during our meal Anyway, the substitute glasses of white wine were quite nice. Then we moved up a gear. Eye Fillet steak with garlic butter and 4 huge BBQ jumbo prawns. she donated one . Jenny gave her main a 10. Eye Fillet steak with red wine Juz. Also a 10. Both cooked perfectly to MR. A bowl of salad served with the mains really good. A nice glass of red OK.. 2 . Then guts ache me was seduced by the sticky date pudding w cream and icecream. Had to be a 20. Rounded all this off with my fav G +T. Compliments to the chef at this hotel. Slick and professional operation and we will return. Given I lost the toss for who pays , and I must add those who are feint hearted with the purse strings may blanche , Jenny was gracious enough to fund the uber home."
