"4.5<br/ <br/ I made another visit to this rustic, authentic Sicilian restaurant in the quiet East Brunswick end of Lygon Street and it never disappoints. It’s very close to a tram stop, thankfully. <br/ <br/ The restaurant sits in between simple, cheery Italian food and fine dining. The pasta is hand made; there are many Sicilian dishes on the menu and always some interesting choices on the chef’s special board. It is a small restaurant playing uplifting Italian music. Good for couples or larger groups and not noisy. Great that everyone can see the cooking.<br/ <br/ We were a group of two couples. We started with some grilled sardines for entree, which were perfectly cooked and a generous serve. My friend had the Zappa de Pesc, a bisque of fresh seafood in a light bisque. beautifully presented and delicate. I had the gnocchi lamb Ragu rich lamb shoulder) served with the pan it was cooked in; it was wonderfully fresh and tender.<br/ <br/ The other two chose the pasta special of the day; Orecchiette with prawns, other seafood, broccoli and almonds. again, perfectly cooked and an unusual mix of fresh fish.<br/ <br/ For dessert, two shared the Tiramisu which was lovely and light. The other couple shared the Sicilian Gelato: a vanilla gelato with roasted almonds and glazed cherries; flavoursome and light.<br/ <br/ The compact wine list has significant variety. Four whites all different varieties); 2 roses and about 10 reds. A mix of good Australian and really interesting Italian wines from Veneto, Abruzzo and Tuscany. For the quality, reasonably priced. This restaurant also allows BYO at $10 per bottle.<br/ <br/ So for a nice night out in a casual atmosphere and very good and interesting Sicilian food, I’d strongly recommend."

"Every now and then in your life, special moments happens and when it does, it gives you hope and faith and you cherish that moment. Cirelli Co. is one of those moments, simply superb in every way, a wonderfully perfectly constructed menu, the food speaks loudly and brilliantly, the service is pleasantly attentive and the ambience and feel is warm, romantic and inviting. I never thought I would say this, and I am Italian, but the Italian food here is better than my nonnas (sorry nonna, lucky shes not on facebook) The chef in charge of this kitchen should be cooking for the royal family, let alone us pheasants. The bar has been raised, good luck to the others."
