"Loved ocean trout, brocollini, dumplings average but the broth they were served in was stunning. Loved flavours of all dishes we tried, thought calamari just a touch overdone and a slightly chewy. Will return."

"I had brunch with about 10 friends who were totally enjoying their meat based dishes but were intrigued with my choice. I asked the person who took my order if my choices were vegan and he knew his stuff. He helped me adapt the chia pudding with berries, almonds and lemon curd by swapping the curd with (sorry i dont know what) and it was delicious. Being a southbank local this will be my go to no probs. Updated from previous review on 2019-07-07"

"Wow, what a surprise! While in Melbourne we were doing some supermarket shopping. The deli in the Woolworth's was closed, so no hot food. Oh well, we'll just jump on down to the Crown Food Court and see what's shakin' down there. Woah, not so fast! We come upon this little pub which was nearly closing for the night. In fact, the kitchen was shut down. Well, out comes the proprietor, and for us, he opened it back up! And was that ever special!.... Had the Wagyu Burger. What's a Wagyu Burger? That special, marbleized beef with low value of unsaturated fat. Whatever ye ol' Cookie put on that burger was outasite! Snappy hot sauce of some kind- almost tasted chipotle-like but I don't want to offend the Aussie by comparison... all I know it was great. Wife had the veggie burger and she loved it. All for about 28 AUD (we opted for water instead of suds). Gotta stop in if you are in South Melbourne- off Clarendon St. just south of the freeway overpass. Blocks from downtown."
