"When Bittersweet opened its doors in Mosman Park in a veritable coffee wasteland I was very excited and I haven't been disappointed. The coffee is smooth with a hint of bitterness which goes superbly with the fantastic friands or any of the flavoursome cakes or pastries. I have tried every cake and I have not been disappointed by any, although my waistline is suffering. To top it off, the staff are friendly and professional. There is no indoor seating, but that doesn't stop us from going there come rain or shine. A regular stop while walking the dog, and for a Saturday morning catch up. Mosman Park is a great part of the world to live in and Bittersweet is just the icing on the cake."

"Stumbled across this cafe after the one we originally intended on going to was super packed- what a blessing in disguise. Cozy, lovely service, beautiful food. Coffees came out prompt and hot. Although I had no issue ordering sides thought it was odd that I couldn't order a side of tomato- especially seeing as though it came with the quinoa salad dish. Still enjoyed it- worth a visit."

"When visiting WA it is mandatory to visit Fremantle and if you are there on a weekend, you just must go to the Fremantle Markets. Markets show us an interesting aspect of the cultural life of people who live there. Even minority groups will surface at markets to show their wares. Any visit to a market is going to leave you hungry and looking for somewhere to relax and eat. Interestingly, Fremantle shows its relationship with the region by having a predominance of Asian restaurants and cuisine. Yes the pubs and counter lunches are there, the Moroccan version of sausage and egg rolls are there, and the French Crepes are there, but most of the food outlets are Asian, and patronised equally significantly by Asian Australians, a sign of Australia's asianisation. We found a precinct of fast food restaurants next door to the Market proper, offering Chinese, Thai, Indian and Vietnamese food. I am a fan of the Dim Sum, so we chose Hong Kong Dim Sum. What is special about the food from this restaurant, and I suspect from all of the others, is that the ingredients were fresh and there was no economising on the fillings for the Dim Sum. If it was prawns, then you got a serious presence of prawns. The prices were modest. So if you are into Dim Sum, you are hungry and you want to join the buzz at Fremantle Markets, this is the restaurant you will be looking for."

"Stopped by for coffee and a sweet treat yesterday whilst visiting the market and walked away with a box of goodies. My husband and I have travelled extensively in France and Paris and I can testify that the tarts and pastries here, certainly measure up to what we have eaten in some very good French patisseries over there. Whilst the teeny tiny patisserie is not the prettiest of locales don't let this deter you. The French owner/baker was very a friendly young woman who greeted everyone with enthusiasm. I had a chocolate raspberry tart that had a perfectly cooked light as air pastry shell covered in a thin layer of rich chocolate ganache. The shell was then filled with a lovely homemade light vanilla custard filling then topped with a pink chantilly cream and fresh raspberries. My husband had a lightly warmed giant palmier pastry heart that he declared one of the best he has ever eaten. (He is a serious palmier connoisseur so this was high praise indeed). Our sweet treats were arranged lovingly on long oval dishes and accompanied by very good coffees. On the basis of what we ate for an impromptu afternoon treat, we bought a further selection of small tarts which we have polished off in the last 24 hours. Living on the other side of Perth I only get to Freo two or three times a year but Lily Paris will definitely be getting my custom every time I go to Freo from now on."
