"Ate at the cafe whilst doing some climbing and cannot fault it. As it's situated in an indoor climbing centre inside an old church space is limited therefore don't expect the largest menu selection, but the food on offer is excellent. I had the haggis nachos and it was filling. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, you also have great views across the climbing walls if you're interested in climbing."

"I'm here, really good food! both had to start bruscheta. Nice. only negatiw for me were the discs of the raw garlic in it. we both had it. we had huh and stornoway blackpudding on kartoffelmash and berry jus that was fantastic and penne arabbiata was great. we ordered garlic bread that was massive! Maybe next time order half a part. great food, service and wine. hidden gem and will be back!"

"The chef is Italian who prepares the food in a open kitchen. The food is very creative and delicious. Only one point I like less: the lemon is very present in the seafood or fish dishes, which makes a little too acid."

"Went in today at 2pm to grab a take away lunch. I ordered a chicken mayo sandwich and chai latte. Placed my order with one guy. Then a girl next to him; asked me if I wanted white or brown bread. Said brown. Then I stood back and let others round about order there’s no clear queuing system) Then customers behind me were getting their sandwiches before me. This point, maybe about 6 7 mins after my initial order I then got asked by one guy “what are you waiting on?” I finished my hot drink by this point. Then he mentioned to the girl making sandwiches, and she responded with “I’ve just made a load of sandwiches” and I was asked again by her if it was white or brown bread. Think they realised a mess up with a couple of take away orders already gone out. Got back to work, disappointingly to find my sandwich on white bread ... I called up and spoke to the girl and she just said it was busy and to come back in and I’d get a refund. I didn’t have time to get back there plus eat. Sandwich was advertised with marinated tomatoes, which I saw in the cabinet but the girl flung on just normal tomatoes too. When you’re paying between £3 6 for a sandwich; premium prices please don’t just do a half bothered job making it up when you realise you’ve forgotten my order : The girls attitude was pretty poor. I’ve used Roast for years and placed orders through our work, but it’s just a little frustrating ... if your using the iPad to process orders great, but maybe look at when times are busy, to manage how customers place orders and ultimately get them."

"Amazing and varied homemade soups, scones and cakes, all on offer on a daily basis. Today I had Moroccan chicken soup with a treacle scone....strange mixture, I know, however, treacle scones are such a rarity these days and it was delicious. The cafe is now table service and staff are so friendly and engage with you when , first, they bring a bottle of water and glasses to your table. Love the sharing of tables, especially encouraged when it's busy.....which is most days over lunch period. When paying, consider a donation to allow a homeless person some nourishing food. Once visited, defy you not to revisit, it's so worth it."

"Travelled through from Edinburgh for a catch up with friends having booked this restaurant. A little surprised on arriving to see how small the dining area was. For some reason I had expected a proper dining area but it’s basically tables and chairs placed around a bar. Getting to the meal, two of the four of us had soup to start and both soups were said to be nice. Cullen Skink and the soup of the day Scotch Broth. Mains chosen were steak pie times three and fish and chips. The pie was delicious. Plenty of very tender meat and gravy inside and crusty pastry. Lovely mash with carrots and peas. The fish was reported to be a little dry. Two of us opted for the sticky toffee pudding with yummy sauce and ice cream. Again delicious. All in all we had a lovely time here. Most of the tables were busy by the time we left. Shout out to the two young servers who were very friendly. Service was quick and efficient."
