"Coming to Hahndorf, one must visit the German Arms. It's been here forever and the establishment is an institution. Dining here is sheer joy for me and an absolute guilty pleasure. I love their German beers, the largers from Hofbrauhaus in particular. So easy to drink and so smooth with a great flavour. You can't go past the original, or the Dunkel is a brilliant darker brew if that takes your fancy.The food is always of a generous proportion so come here hungry. I'm partial to Bavarian fare so this is right down my alley. I love pickled anything so the sauerkraut and pickled red cabbage hit the spot. This time I had the giant Kransky hot dog and giant it is! Enjoyed it immensely. Had the apple strudel dessert and it came with a gorgeous vanilla bean ice cream and thick clotted cream as well. Pure indulgence!If you like German food and beers, you just MUST come here."

"Best pastry shop i have ever been to. I had a chicken pie, apple strudel and a mocha. The pastry used was so thick and crispy, tasted so good. Mocha was well balanced. A must visit wen visiting handorf"

"We were very excited to see Milka chocolate here, coming from NZ we find it hard to buy there. I went to take a photo to ask my daughters what flavour they would like, but before I even had my phone up, an old lady (presumably the owner) came running up demanding I put my phone away, pointed to a sign (that I had not seen) saying I can’t take a photo. I’m not entitled sure why this is, but perhaps she could have taken the time to find out why I wanted to take a photo? I would rather find my chocolate elsewhere than support such a rude business owner."

"A popular place where we remembered a previous visit a few years ago, this place is simply great to sit in and enjoy the atmosphere. It is brilliantly decorated with watches of all shapes and sizes, barometers, pictures, paintings, flags, plates, crisps, and pretty well everything related to Germany. it has a beautiful feeling, it with several different dining areas, including outdoors, a formal space, and one with exposed beams and wood lining. Many windows offer a great way to observe walking outside, and the furniture is comfortable and with a bit of European influence. The best was the cake selection, which included baked cheese cakes, strudels and beetroots. Really nice and add the feeling of Germany. All articles were very cheap and the staff was very friendly. We had a nice time to explore only the rooms and the furnishings, as there are not too many people in the early hour we visited. Breakfast and lunch was also available and it is conveniently located on the main road, quite well in the middle of all craft shops. Definitely worth a visit and also a great coffee."

"Travelling between the Barossa and Melbourne we looked at some trip advisor reviews to find a place that served good coffee. Some establishments claim to make coffee but we have had some awful concoctions on the trip to the outback. This place lived up to its reviews. We were very impressed with the service, the coffee and the delicious muffin served warm straight from the oven. The establishment is clean and spacious but lacks ambience."

"Lunch on Friday with family. interesting menu; eat very tasty with good portions. the wine list was not extensive, but what we drank was very good. the service was excellent, even to go to the effort to make an Irish coffee (not listed) for my...man to his joy. charming landlage. it rained all afternoon, but the gentle nozzle gave the scene a nice feeling of rest that we could observe through the glass windows in the outer enclosed part of the restaurant. very pleasant, relaxed eating."
