"We arrived about 1.30 to have a drink and lunch. We were not given a friendly welcome, just asked if we wanted any food. We were shown to a cold area at the back of the pub, with minimal heating. It took about 40 minutes to get any food, and we were just told that the kitchen was busy, no apology. It seemed like nobody cared at all. Other people were also waiting a very long time to be served. We certainly would never go back."

"Absolutely love this restaurant! Staff are friendly and attentive, despite the restaurant being fairly full, we were shown a table straight away and the overall mood was really quite relaxing. The food is amazing, you get a decent portion for what you pay."

"We arrived latically on Saturday night, starve and desperate for a very long journey to a steak. greeted by a log fire and friendly staff who informed us the kitchen was just closed. if we ordered in the cash immediately, the kitchen could fulfill our order. really great pub food; beautiful Prawn cocktail, deep-fried mushrooms and incredible Sirloin steaks. I can not mistake the food, personal or service....so friendly and accommodating"

"Find fantastic. excellent quality meat and not too expensive. we had luck sharing one of the tomahawk steaks. it was cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, fat was nice down, flesh pink and juicy, all edible (except the bone naturally). the sides were just as good. sweet potato frries, clobige chips and, I've never been a fan of Mac cheese, at least that was until I visited coopers grill, his fantastic, light and fluffy, beautifully spiced. we chose the pfefferkorn sauce, which was amazing and also had the bourbon sauce, which was for me a little too strong for the steak. with the Bourbon sauce was nothing wrong, it was just that the meat was so tasty, it was a shame to mask this ingenious taste and quality with a strong sose. the only reason this place does not get 5 stars is that I think the front of the house needs a little more training on her product and how meat is served depending on how they have asked that it be cooked and it was very hot in the restaurant. We certainly have a real summer this year, but it was unpleasant to eat in such temperatures. it's an old building that's why they don't have air cones, but I'm sure there are other solutions. other than that, top notch and recommend this place for a high quality meal."

"I booked the Gold Room for a surprise party to celebrate 50 years since my wife and I met. Maddie was outstanding as my Brookmans liaison supporting me to make the arrangements. The barman Alex looked after myself and all my guests and the chef did a delicious buffet. I'd unreservedly recommend the venue and the team."

"If you want to enjoy a nice piece of fish, then you must choose Seaworld. I wasn't keen on the chips but the rest of the food is really nice and fresh."

"Tucked away off the beaten track, four of us visited the Candlestick on the hottest day ever no breeze and 36/37 degrees! We ordered sandwiches and starter portions for lunch, all of which were good. We felt a little sorry for the poor girl behind the bar who seemed to have to do everything, which was quite a lot as there were a number of people in who were setting up for a fair/exhibition starting the following day. An enjoyable, if not outstanding, visit."
