"We tried twice over the weekend to eat at the Paragon - Saturday for lunch we were shown to a table in the middle but there was an extra chair behind my seat at the end of a booth - I was unable to pull my chair out far enough to squeeze my leg between the chair and the massive table leg, whilst trying I had staff pushing by from behind the counter carrying coffees - I gave up and we left. Sunday we tried again this time for a Devonshire Tea ( they do NOT serve this - they sell drinks and scones separately for aprox $14 - at that price better off going to Lillianfells and enjoy real opulence) we got shown to a booth where one very narrow bench seat had no back - the tea came in miniature coffee pots not too much bigger than the salt shaker the tea was undrinkable the staff were rude and more interested in gathering around the coffee machine to chat than look after the customers - 4 staff ignoring 8 customers at the chocolate counter resulting in 5 walking out and 3 left waiting - 4 customers were seated but ended up leaving before they ordered but which could have been because they were seated next to a table of 6 women making so much noise that no one else could have a conversation - the staff seemed oblivious to this.When I complained on leaving she discounted our bill but no apology or concern, it gave the impression that this was common practice on dealing with complaints which I would assume would happen daily.The Paragon used to be an Icon - polished timber ambiance steeped in history welcoming professional clean smartly dressed staff - So much potential being destroyed by inexperienced staff - toilets unpleasant needed cleaning as did everything else - too much disorganised clutter. NEVER AGAIN"

"Great food and truly magnificent view. Nice time to be had here, prices are a little on the high side but the quality of food and presentation was good and service was pleasant. Its the atmosphere that we really come here for to relax and eat good food with a beautiful view as the back drop."

"My partner and I had breakfast here yesterday (Sunday) I ordered the hollandaise eggs with bacon and my partner ordered the buttermilk pancakes Canadian style and we both had coffee. The server told us there will be a 20 minute wait on food because they were jam packed but the coffee was served a few minutes later then not even 10 minutes later we had our breakfasts. Both delicious and fantastic coffee! We will definitely come back next time we are in Katoomba!"
