"We went to the Dava for dinner recently with our two boys (5 y.o & 10 mths) and we were very impressed with the meals and the service. <br>
As we entered, we noticed the sign stating no free kids meals during holidays. The kids meals are $7.50 and really generous portions; we're not complaining about paying for them in holiday periods given that kids meals are usually $10 or more elsewhere! It's an incentive for us to visit again in off-peak times.<br>
I was pleasantly surprised to see a kids' size roast of the day option (perfect for the 10 mth old) and the chicken nuggets in the nuggets & chips meal are actually fresh crumbed chicken, not the standard processed chicken nuggets usually served up.<br>
The adult sized roast of the day was more than my husband could eat and he was very satisfied. I enjoyed the Asian prawn salad very much too.<br>
The staff were fabulous, especially the young waitress who assured me that the mess made under the table/highchair was not a bother and really not the worst she'd seen. I really appreciate eating places that are cool about the mess kids can make and don't make you feel bad for dining out with your kids."

"Great food! Fish was crispy and not overly battered while the chips were hot and fluffy. The calamari rings were very tasty soft and juicy on the inside although the scallops were a little on the drier side. Very nice setting, comfy booths and friendly staff."

"Wilson’s was great! Good wine list, great food (couldn’t possibly do better than the slow cooked lamb! and attentive service. Whilst we attended on a quiet night with few patrons, it still felt cosy, so the ambience is spot on. We’d definitely go again when next in Mornington (from Melbourne and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone (lucky locals! ."

"Was an enjoyable evening, nice cosy atmosphere, the staff were really friendly and the food was good. Pretty standard bistro prices, a little bit high but all in all a good meal. We had a garlic and cheese pizza for starters, delish! Thin crispy cheesy, garlic goodness. Wife had the Parma for the main, she said it was very good! I had the porterhouse with pepper sauce, it looked good tasted good but was just a tiny bit on the dry side for the price, but honestly I'm just nit picking. Again enjoyable evening that didn't feel rushed and very family friendly atmosphere."

"Monday to Friday during Winter they have their normal excellent menu at $20 for soup and mains calamari, duck, porter house, chicken, vegetarian etc. etc.plus local wines, great coffee and die for sweets. The restaurant has open fires and is very comfortable...with only downside being walk outside to the Loos. The Briars itself has an old homestead, acres of grass, small coffee shop near wetlands centre and miles of walking tracks. This place is a hidden Jewell on the Mornington Peninsula."
