"Service was slow and attitude nonchalant. Was looking for a decent wine and thought I’d found it to be told they don’t have it. I had just overheard the same conversation with another patron regarding a tap beer. Food menu tight and I selected popcorn chicken which was not bad but was certainly told where I had to go to pick it up. Not exactly spoilt for choice at the airport but doubt I’d bother next time."

"I wont write a review unless it's worth telling people to go to it or warning against it. I can't fault this place! On a recent trip to Canberra from the Yarra Valley my family ate there twice. Once for lunch and once for breakfast. I can say without a shadow of a doubt the Gryphon pizza was the best I have had and the breakfast was on par with my local cafe which I really love. Great coffee and an excellent choice of beer and wine. The service was spot on. This was an accidental find and we are so glad we did."

"This was in the top 10 of Canberra’s cool bars so we decided to give it a try. Not the best choice for an early, quiet Friday night drink. It was ruined by the ramped up bass level of the music from the pub downstairs, which was also competing with a poor choice of music (sounded like the bar staff’s favourite radio, rather than music selected for the bar’s ambience) from the bar itself. Bar service slow even with hardly anyone in the place and the décor was confusing and inconsistent."

"Hotel foyer bar/eateries have usually been a disappointing experience. This was something different. Joe's doesn't pretend to be fancy it delivers well cooked well priced food in a casual bar environment complimented by an interesting wine list with a reasonable selection of wines by the glass.You wouldn't travel across Canberra to get there but if staying in or close by it is worth a try."
