"It was a good experience. many interesting dishes and there was not too much to eat, so they enjoy the whole course without feeling sick at the end. I think it is also important to note that if they say “input menu” they do not mean they can order another set individually, for example person 1 order set a and person 2 order set b. they think that the whole table of but many people must all eat the same amount (so the whole table of 5 people eat set a, unless there are food restrictions). what I find a bit strange because set b is just a few extras more than set a and I am sure that they make it the same time they are tabling for the other. we have also said that we did not take alcohol, but rather some alcohol was served as a gum cleaner (ginn and tonic) and I think there was also alcohol in dessert. I would still say that it was a positive experience overall and I would try again. Maybe we'll try the Baller menu next time."

"I held a farewell here on the weekend, the staff were great and very helpful. Lauren was extremely helpful when making the booking and organising the food. Would recommend as a great venue for small events like this!"

"Recently I had lunch with my friend at the cook’s hill in bar beach. the restaurant is at the bowling club and with a new outdoor dining area with views of the beach it may have the best location in newcastle and the cheapest drinks!. eating was spectacular and the prices were remarkably reasonable for the quality of food served here. we had the Arancini balls with a beautiful goat cheese and Napoli sauce and the spatchcock as a net that presents excellent and tasty to eat. the Arancini balls were as good if not better than I had in the northern Italian. we were so blown away from the quality of eating from the kitchen that we made a point to talk to the chef who is also the owner to supplement him on our meals. wade is his name and is a very friendly guy who sat on our request with us and told us about his experience in star restaurants in sydney and london and as a chef on various super yachts in the middle sea. after lunch we sat outside and enjoyed a few beers in the sunshine with a view of the beach. the restaurant also offers grills that all meat and some delicious looking snack plates and a great looking quinoa salad that we saw to go into a large family group. during the payment of the bill we made in the next week reservations for dinner, which was as good as lunch with a scallop risotto and srumptious marlin filets with a pestilence salat and pickled beetroot. this is really 5 stars restaurant quality eating to affordable restaurant prices. 10 out of 10 for the cook’s hill. thank you. wade, we told all our friends!"

"Food was great as was the service but not really an all you can eat restaurant as advertised as the food is brought to the table in small portions. None came around a second time. We left hungry. Good experience to do though."
